Electrical Project Engineer

GPA should be 2.5/4 or 3.1/5
• Engineering Design & Construction phase experience.
• Professionally Registered Engineer.
• As the successful candidate, you will hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized university; a higher degree is preferred.
• You will have Seven (7) years of related experience, preferably in the oil industry or similar process industry.
• You should have experience in the support of both small and large scale capital projects.
• Work experience in GCC, Saudi Arabia or Saudi Aramco is a plus.
• You will be familiar with International Engineering Codes and Standards.
• You will have excellent English communication skills (verbal and written).
• Dynamic attitude towards project improvements and savings.
• PMP Certification is desirable but not mandatory.
Desired Candidate Profile
You will be required to perform the following:
• Formally designs or studies electrical modifications to oil & gas processing and handling facilities, residences and utilities.
• Execute capital projects according to the scope, schedule and budget.
• Responsibility for project development: preliminary engineering to detail designs to construction and the final safe turnover to proponent.
• Manage General Engineering Services (GES) design contractor activities during the development of project proposal, include definition of project work scope and schedule requirements. Development of detailed estimate leading to funding appropriation and approval.
• Develop and preparation of contracting plan and strategy for solicitation, evaluation and award of contract for detail engineering, procurement and construction.
• Manage contractor preparation of detailed design drawings, material specifications and procurement, and/or construction bid packages.
• Prepare annual and long range operating plans and objectives.
• Be familiar with international procedures of Projects Phases, Engineering Phases, Bidding procedure, Procurement Process, Construction Requirements and up to date Best Practices.
• Review and resolve day to day contractors’ claims and complaints related to assigned project (Electrical) work during construction and ensure HSE compliance.
• Fully understand contract documents (inclusive of appendices, drawings and specifications), project execution plan, interface management, change management, construction sequencing, standards specifications and project schedule to support project manager and/or company representative in timely completion of project.
• Performs change order estimating and assists the Project Manager or Company representative in change order negotiations.
• Project Reporting and implementation of company initiatives during project execution. Review weekly and monthly reports on the status and progress of the contracts, including project costs and potential changes.
• Attend project meetings e.g. progress, stakeholders, design review, plot plan, value improvement.
• Assist in managing and reviewing the project progress i.e. planned vs actual. Review of project schedule, coordinating and monitoring the assigned project progress and challenge below par performance of the contractor.
• Review, coordinates and monitors invoices (claimed vs actual physical progress checks) and contractor’s submittals.
• Provide routine electrical (design and construction) support to facilities such as substations, refinery process plants that include, but are not limited to, refining, NGL and utilities plants.
Provide routine electrical operation support to refinery in-house power generation and electrical distribution systems.
• Perform electrical system studies, such as system transients, dynamic modeling and load flow and reliability calculations.
• Prepare electrical design packages and specify materials to add new equipment or modify existing systems.
• Develop and/or review operating and switching procedures for electrical equipment.
Experience in evaluating existing and new engineering design of substations, switchgear, transmission lines and MCCs 480 V through 380 KV.
• Experience in applying and analyzing system simulation, and modeling of electrical distribution systems using computer software such as E-TAP and similar software.
Be familiar with leading equipment manufacturers/ Vendors.
• The engineer shall be familiar with NEC, IEEE, IEC and other international electrical standards, CII best practices and value practices. اضغط هنا
